The unquiet mind

It can’t be harder than this

A long quiet awaits

in the bottom of this bottle

No more questions to answer

mute acceptance

comes at the end of this plunger

Scorn and judgement vanish

rebuke on deaf ears

after the scrip is emptied

We do this the hard way

it could all be over

with the courage in the trigger

the relief of being nothing

when all other respite eludes

the unquiet mind
