A Muse’s Window

Summer’s last kiss

long and languorous

Consummating not

in tender afterglow’s embrace

Flaring bright with Nova light

and gone with the eve

The clouds descend

heralding the Muse’s

sorrowful gaze

Portrait of her soul’s lament

Tears well

then burst forth

in color majesty

Her final flash of glory

‘ere the long night falls
