The violent quiet

The globe begins to turn

impudent pouting

away from the sun

She has taken some offense

and scorns the heat

So darker hours enfold

and northwest skies heave their breath

Exhale steady across our bow

Propelling wet, the cleansing bath

Make fertile this bed

before blankets descend
